Amazon has made two-way interactive video possible through Zoom with the Fire TV Cube and with voice control by Alexa. The new feature extends beyond just camera-enabled Alexa devices as was available last year to the device with Zoom, continuing the video conferencing platforms extension into more devices.
Fire Up
The new conferencing system just necessitates the Fire TV Cube owner for connecting their device to some compatible webcam and to connect all of it towards the Zoom app on Fire TV. Once the camera is within place and connected, users can sign into their Zoom account and get Alexa to become listed on Zoom meetings, reciting the meeting ID and passcode upon request. The app will show all the user’s contacts and upcoming meetings, using the option to join or start them. Users may also link their Zoom calendar to Alexa to ensure that asking the voice assistant to become listed on their Zoom meeting will prompt Alexa to list relevant meetings in the calendar and automatically dial in when the user says yes towards the meeting they are trying to join.
“Our customers have enjoyed having the ability to video call and fasten with family members around the giant screen from the comfort of their couch. We're excited to announce that starting today you can video call friends, family, and business colleagues using the Zoom app burning TV,” Amazon explained in a article. “We love having the flexibility to become listed on work meetings or interact with loved ones far and near using the power of two-way video calling on Fire TV Cube with Zoom, and that we hope you do too!”

Zoom has been seeking to third-party arrangements to handle some of the feature demands, like Dubber’s conversation transcription and analysis or Otter’s va that runs quietly in the background of meetings, records and transcribes the audio, and takes notes in real-time. When it comes to Zoom Rooms as well as their voice commands, the woking platform integrated Alexa for Business controls back in April. The organization has been bringing a few of the features in-house, however, like the purchase of AI-powered translation startup Kites or digital contact center Five9.
